Nikulipe, a payments platform enabling global online merchants to access local payment methods in Africa, now supports M-Pesa Mobile Money, further expanding merchant reach across high-growth African markets.
M-Pesa is one of the world’s most widely adopted mobile money platforms, used by nearly 70 million individuals and businesses across Northern and Sub-Saharan Africa for everyday online and offline transactions. M-Pesa is widely recognized as a pioneer of mobile money and a key driver of financial inclusion.
Through the addition of M-Pesa, Nikulipe enables international merchants to offer the mobile money service at checkout, helping reduce payment friction and improve conversion rates in mobile-first economies where digital wallets are the preferred payment method.
“Mobile money is the most effective way to reach everyday consumers in Africa,” said Frank Breuss, CEO of Nikulipe. “At Nikulipe, our mission is to streamline that access for international PSPs and global merchants by replacing fragmented, market-by-market integrations with a single, scalable connection.”
The M-Pesa integration is the latest in a series of African payment expansions by Nikulipe this year, following the addition of major local payment methods in Africa including Airtel Mobile Money, MTN Mobile Money, MVola, Zamtel, and Paga. Together, these integrations provide merchants with potential access to more than half a billion consumers across African markets.
By focusing on enabling local payment methods in Africa, Nikulipe aims to simplify cross-border commerce and support scalable growth for global merchants seeking to expand across the continent.
