Growth Opportunities

Croatia offers a number of opportunities international merchants wishing to expand their business into new markets:

● Croatian digital infrastructure is well developed: 78% of the population have access to the Internet, and 91.8% of Croatians have bank accounts and more than 95% use mobile phones.

● 61.8% of people in Croatia now shop online, and it is expected that this number will increase. The e-commerce market is anticipated to more than double and reach over 2.57 billion USD by 2027.

● With a rapid GDP growth of 10.4%, Croatia is the second fastest growing economy in the Balkans. With the introduction of the EUR in Jan 2023, cross-border online shopping gets easier and is expected to grow fast.

● With regards to payments, mobile wallets solutions further grow in market share. Especially since local wallet solutions like KEKS Pay or Aircash offer not just the ability to pay at online- and offline merchants but develop into a “super-app” with in-app payments for parking or public transport, to easily pay for insurances or concert tickets and also offer peer-to-peer payment solutions.

Today, Croatia is one of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in the region and offers excellent opportunities for international merchants both for digital and physical goods.
